Hmphh..
So it turns out i won’t be attending prom after all.. so much for all that effort.
Did i ever tell you i love dresses; especially the ones that you can only wear for something formal like a ball. The ones that have a full skirt, or floor length gown and feel very expensive (even if they aren’t!). The dresses that spin out when you twirl around in circles like a little girl. You know, the ones that make you feel like a princess. The ones that you have to scrunch up when you’re walking and that poof up around your legs when you sit down… those dresses are nice.
These turned out to be my favorite (classy, and yet affordable).

The good news is… i get to spend a few days in NYC and Long Island with some of my favorite people =)
life isn’t so bad after all…
Service
The following is a short speech i read at our schools honor society induction Thursday, April 24, 2008.
maybe posting this is sort of cheating, since its easier to post something you’ve already written than write something new. however, i haven’t been motivated enough to do so. take it or leave it =) i hope you enjoy.
As Martin Luther King Jr. once stated, “Everybody can be great… because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” The students standing before you tonight can be considered great for many reasons including character, scholarship, and leadership but if nothing else, a desire to serve. I know none of you yet have a college degree- and if you’re like me, I’ll assume that not every one of you always makes your subject and verb agree. However, I know that you all have what it takes to serve.
It is evident that there are many great people in this world, but consider that those who are truly great are those who are willing to serve. It’s that act of selflessness that sets them apart from every other great man. For those who make great leaders, are also great servers.
On that note, do not forget that to serve, you must act. Sservice is not an idle word, but one that entails moving forward. Although service may mean sacrificing time, energy, or finances; the reward for doing so makes it worth while. By reward I mean, the feeling you get when you give something of yourself to better the life of another, expecting nothing in return. In conclusion let me quote Albert Schweitzer, who claimed t, “I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” I encourage you all to continue down that path.
maybe i’ll have the motivation to write soon…
